Ruben Neves has suggested he could leave Wolves this summer, putting Arsenal and Manchester United on high alert.

Since joining Wolves in 2017, Neves has become a mainstay at Molineux and has played a significant role in the club cementing their position in the Premier League’s top-half.

Both Arsenal and United are keen on signing a central midfielder and have been linked with a move for the Portuguese star, who is under contract until the summer of 2024.

Speaking after Wolves’ 3-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield, Neves indicated he is open to moving on when the transfer window opens in June.

He said: ‘The only thing I can tell you at the moment is that everyone knows what football is about, what our lives are about. Our career is really short and we need to take the opportunities we have.

‘All of us have dreams and we need to live those dreams in a small space of time. Let’s see what happens, I cannot say too much about it.’

Neves’ availability will interest Manchester United who are being priced out of a move for West Ham’s Declan Rice and face a battle convincing Kalvin Phillips to sign from Leeds.

However, they will face competition for Neves with Arsenal looking to add to their midfield options after struggling to cover Thomas Partey’s absences this season.

Both clubs would be expected to pay a significant fee for the 25-year-old, with Wolves manager Bruno Lage claiming his star man is worth as much as £100m.

During his five-year spell at Wolves, Neves has played 212 games and scored 24 goals, 21 of which have come in the Premier League.

In 2020, he helped the Midlands club reach the semi-finals of the Europa League before they were knocked out by Man United.

Meanwhile, he has made 26 appearances for the Portuguese national team.
