Foo Fighters have recruited Ted Lasso star Jason Sudeikis for their new Love Dies Young video.
The funnyman plays an un-Lasso-like synchronised swimming coach, who kicks off the promo by trying to motivate his U.S. team ahead of a major competition.
As the squad enters the pool, the faces of the women are replaced with those of Dave Grohl, who also directed the video, and his bandmates.
The team performs flawlessly, squabbles, and revives a dying member during its routine, which earns them top marks from the judges.
But as they celebrate, what looks like a solid piece of poo floats by them, causing mass hysteria and a dash to the changing rooms.
The video ends with Foo Fighters star Pat Smear cleaning out the pool in a Hazmat suit, realizing the poo at the centre of the drama is actually a piece of chocolate and trying a bite – a scene that pays homage to one in cult golf comedy Caddyshack, starring Bill Murray.
Love Dies Young appears on the Foo Fighters’ 10th studio album Medicine At Midnight, which was released in February.
