On Friday it was revealed the latest installment in the franchise – Spider-Man: No Way Home – took in in a staggering $50million in Thursday previews alone.

Setting an impressive new bar for blockbuster movies of the pandemic-era, the Tom Holland and Zendaya-starring film is now set to rake in between $150 million to $180 million over opening weekend, Variety estimates.

Deadline also claims that the film has even beaten the likes of Avengers: Endgame and The Last Jedi in terms of its Thursday preview haul.
