Salma Hayek details her ‘horrific’ mud bath experience with Lady Gaga in House Of Gucci

Salma Hayek continued her whirlwind promotional tour for House Of Gucci with an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden.

And during the sit down the 55-year-old actress detailed one scene with Lady Gaga that she found ‘horrific’ as she spoke about the chaos that unfolded while filming a mud bath.

Made more challenging by the fact that she had gained ‘extra kilos’ to play Pina Auriemma in the film, Salma reenacted what she called  the ‘most challenging scene I’ve ever done.’

The Oscar nominated actress sat down with James Corden and guest Keith Urban on Thursday November 18 where she spoke about getting her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and also her upcoming film House Of Gucci.

Corden inquired about a ‘spa scene’ she had filmed with Gaga, 35, which he teed up as being a ‘particularly bonding moment’ for the ladies.

‘I’ve never done a mud bath,’ Hayek confessed before sharing that her expectations about how it was supposed to go were completely wrong.

‘Once you’re in, you’re naked,’ she described of getting into the bath. ‘Well not completely, we had something underneath but nothing on top – and the thing is that, in my head, I was going to sink,’ she recalled.

Salma noted how Gaga sunk into the bath ‘like an Egyptian queen’ but for her it was different. ‘Me, with my extra kilos, I sit on the mud and I’m not sinking. And I’m trying to pull the mud [away from] my huge butt to make some weight [move].’

She hilariously continued to say that it was a ‘very dramatic scene’ they were filming and Gaga was ‘trying to stay focused,’ while she flailed around.

‘I couldn’t remember the lines. One leg [was] up, and then I go sink in. It was horrific…most challenging scene I’ve ever done,’ she maintained.

In the film Hayek plays character, Pina Auriemma, a clairvoyant friend of ‘black widow’ Patrizia Reggiani (Lady Gaga) who plotted to kill ex-husband Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver) and was sentenced to 26 years in prison.

Joking about her character in the ‘very glamorous film,’ she hilariously said during the interview ‘…Except I play the psychic who is not glamorous, not good looking like everyone else,’ and added that the weight she had to gain for the role was ‘impossible’ to get off.

Speaking about the prestigious honor of getting her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Eternals actress said that during her humble beginnings in tinseltown speaking very little english she thought it was ‘impossible.’

‘Even in my wildest dreams I was not thinking…at the time being Mexican, it was almost impossible to have this dream already, so to think that as a Latina-Arab woman my name was going to be there [the walk of fame] it was impossible,’ she said.
