Robert Lewandowski’s agent has hit out at Bayern Munich for not letting the striker leave the club amid interest from Chelsea, Manchester United and Barcelona.

Lewandowski, 33, is under contract at the Bundesliga giants until next year but wants an exit this summer.

The Poland international has been linked with a move to England but Barcelona appear to be leading the race to sign him with Xavi looking for a striker to supplement Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

However, Bayern are resistant to let their star man depart, with their chief executive Oliver Khan suggesting the club will do everything it can to keep him.

Lewandowski’s representative Pini Zahavi believes Bayern are acting unreasonably and should let his player move to Camp Nou.

Speaking to BILD, Zahavi said: ‘For Lewandowski, Bayern is history. There was no proposal from Bayern for Lewandowski to sign a new deal. He just wants to leave the club after eight years. He’s 34 and wants to make his dream come true.

‘He wants to leave this summer, none of us care about the money. The truth is that he hasn’t felt respected by the board for a few months now. Bayern lost Robert not only as a footballer but as a person.

‘Robert has the chance to move to the club he has always dreamt of. Why is Bayern denying him this opportunity? I actually had no intention of speaking in public. I have great respect for a historic club like Bayern, but I couldn’t help myself but react to the club’s latest statements.’

Since joining Bayern in 2014, Lewandowski has emerged as a talismanic figure at the Allianz Arena.

In 375 appearances for the German club, he has scored 349 goals including 50 this season alone.

Meanwhile, he has won eight Bundesliga titles, three German cups and the Champions League during his eight years in Munich.

Speaking in March, Lewandowski told Sky Germany that he was ‘open to everything’ regarding a summer move.
