Shock as Real Housewives of Melbourne star dramatically QUITS the entire show mid-season

It was a history-making moment on Sunday night’s The Real Housewives of Melbourne, as one of the cast members dramatically quit the show mid-season.

During the bombshell episode, Anjali Rao, 47, revealed she was leaving for good after failing to get on with a number of her co-stars.

In a discussion with Kyla Kirkpatrick and Cherry Dipietrantonio, the former CNN broadcaster said: ‘I just don’t want to be around those people. Other than you two and Jackie [Gillies], I just – they are not for me.

‘I’m actually finding myself really jealous over anyone who hasn’t met them.’

Speaking to the camera, Anjali added: ‘There’s something about this group that Kyla and Cherry get, something positive. I have no idea what that is. And I’m out.

‘You don’t deserve my explanations. You don’t deserve my words. You don’t deserve my presence. I am leaving, and I can’t wait to get away from these people.’

She added to Kyla and Cherry: ‘Leaving this group – that is my decision, and my decision alone. And I’m taking it. I am taking it.’

The screen suddenly went black to confirm her departure, with subtitles reading: ‘After lengthy discussions with producers, Anjali decided to leave the show.’

Anjali’s decision came after co-star Gamble Breaux read a private text message she’d sent her complaining about the women and the show.

‘You all have fake fights and you have fake fun,’ Anjali wrote in the message. ‘It’s getting me down. I’m just dying for something that means anything genuine.’

‘This is the most bored I’ve ever been in TV and that’s coming from somebody who spent 20 years discussing the Israelis and Palestinians,’ she added.

After Kyla told Anjali what had happened, the journalist bit back: ‘I’m not exactly dealing with the biggest brains here! Janet, Gamble, Simone? They’re not special. They’re just your average, old, run of the mill, common b****es.’

‘Tune in for the next episode when @cherrydipietrantonio and @thechampagnedame go shopping for a Ouija board as they attempt to conjure up my tortured spirit.

‘Honestly though, thank you to the network, production, cast, crew, and fans for understanding my reasons for leaving. If I have let anyone down, I am truly sorry. The decision I made to walk away was really hard.

‘But you know what? Whether you loved me or loathed me, we’ll always have Cannes…. I mean Cairns.’
