In 1983, the actress, 54, starred in the Australian adventure film, BMX Bandits, about a gang of bicycle riding teenagers.

Then just 16-years-old and sporting her famous mane of red ringlets, Nicole admits she did do some of her own stunts – but not all of them.

‘While I did do some of the riding in BMX Bandits, they also had a professional body stunt double – who was a teenage boy wearing a padded bra!’ she told The Sydney Morning Herald on Saturday.

Described as breaking into ‘shrieks of laughter’ when confessing the industry secret, the Bombshell star was clearly amused by the revelation.

The movie was the start of a brilliant career for the Oscar winner, who went on to say that she was ‘fortune’ to have landed the role.

‘I am so fortunate to be able to do what I love, to act. People ask me if I ever want to direct, and I say ‘no way’. I love acting, that’s what I want to do and keep on doing,’ she added.

Nicole, then new to the screen, played Judy, one of a scrappy trio of teenage BMX riders who become involved with a group of bank robbers after discovering their walkie-talkies.

The star has been in Australia in recent weeks, where she has been promoting her new movie, Being the Ricardos.

She is portraying one of the most iconic TV stars of all time, Lucille Ball, in the highly anticipated biopic.

The film is based on a true story and is centred around Lucille (played by Kidman) and her husband Desi Arnaz (Javier Bardem) as they face a crisis that could end their careers and another that could end their marriage.

On Wednesday, the Aquaman actress was accompanied by her husband Keith Urban and mother Janelle at the film’s Sydney premiere.
