Matt Golinski welcomes second child with Erin Yarwood after losing family to blaze on Boxing Day


Celebrity chef Matt Golinski has welcomed a baby girl with wife Erin Yarwood on Christmas Day. 

Matt took to Instagram to share a photo of the adorable infant, writing underneath a photo: ‘Welcome to the world Tillie Rose Golinski, our little Christmas miracle.’

Erin also shared the happy news on her Facebook with a photo of her cheek-to-cheek with Tillie from her hospital bed.

‘Matt and I are over the moon to update you all on the happy (long awaited!) arrival of our newest and super precious family member … meet Tillie Rose,’ she wrote.  

‘Our very beautiful and exciting Christmas present born on Christmas Day. Mum and Bub are doing great. Dad is in his beautiful love bubble.’  

‘And we have one very excited, very natural and extremely smitten big sister. We are all just so in love.’

The couple already share daughter Aluna Bennie Golinski.

The beautiful news comes almost 10 years after Matt lost his first wife Rachael and the couple’s three daughters, twins Sage and Willow, 12, and Starlia, 10, in a tragic house fire on Boxing Day in 2011.

The chef’s life was torn apart with him the sole survivor of the Sunshine Coast blaze.

He spent eight weeks in a coma and endured 24 operations as a result of the fire due to the injuries sustained.

The pair married in 2017, with the couple welcoming first daughter Aluna that same year. 

‘I hadn’t really been considering the idea of a new relationship – I just wanted to get well and move on from everything,’ he said at the time of their engagement.

‘Then fate came along and I was lucky to meet someone who was really special.’

The chef proposed to the personal trainer top of Mount Cooroora in Pomona. 

‘A lot of people search their whole lives for love. I have been lucky enough to have two great loves. To love two wonderful, kind women,’ he said.

He has since returned to cooking and keeps busy on his blog and website when not on the road.

Susan MacCracken, the mother of Matt’s first wife Rachael, has previously said she is pleased her former son-in-law has found love again.

‘I’m just so happy for him for making it happen. Life has to move on and he’s made a humongous effort to do that,’ an emotional Susan told the Sunshine Coast Daily. 

‘I know death is a part of life and we have to move on,’ Susan said.

‘I thought, well, he’s young enough to meet someone new and have children again. That was my thinking for him.’
