Manchester United’s players have voiced their concerns over Bruno Fernandes’ wastefulness in possession this season, according to reports.

United’s miserable season came to an end with another defeat as they were beaten 1-0 by Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Erik ten Hag, who began his work with United last week, is now tasked with a huge summer rebuild in order to get the club back on track.

The former Ajax manager will also be looking to restore order in a fractured dressing room, with many players struggling to show any signs of improvement under Ralf Rangnick.

Fernandes’ form this season has been one of many issues Rangnick has failed to solve during his time at Old Trafford, and according to the Manchester Evening News, members of United’s squad consider the midfielder’s inconsistent distribution during matches ‘a problem’.

The Portugal international scored 10 goals and registered six assists in the Premier League this season – a significant drop from the 18 goals and 12 assists during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s reign last term.

The report also highlights the discontent between the players inside United’s dressing room, with one member of the squad allegedly claiming that captain Harry Maguire is ‘not good enough’.

It’s also claimed that some United players cannot fathom the amount of minutes that Rangnick has given to 20-year-old winger Anthony Elanga, who scored two goals and registered two assists in 21 Premier League appearances this season.

Elsewhere, it has emerged that Rangnick has questioned United’s hierarchy over the transfer strategy, including their failure to replace Nemanja Matic and their decision to spend around £90 million on Amad Diallo, Facundo Pellistri and Donny van de Beek.

Meanwhile, United have already decided that they are open to offers for Aaron Wan-Bissaka as the right-back is not part of Erik ten Hag’s plans for next season.
