Lawrence added that Grande ‘can’t make bad music,’ and that she’s ‘since reflected on [her] behavior with’ Grande, adding, ‘I went full radio contest winner.’

McKay joked on the panel, ‘She didn’t like you.’

In addition to appearing in the film, Grande also collaborated with Kid Cudi on Just Look Up, a song for the film.

The storyline of the dramatic comedy casts Lawrence alongside DiCaprio as a pair of astronomers on an uphill battle via a media tour to warn people that a deadly comet is hurtling toward the earth.

Lawrence said on the panel that ‘the entire media experience is how we digest information,’ and that ‘what was crazy about shooting this film about climate change and then COVID happened.

‘Some people don’t want to hear the truth because it’s terrifying,’ she said. ‘The escapism of celebrities and the distraction is more fun, and tearing down other people is better than looking at yourself while you’re watching Tucker Carlson.’

The film’s ensemble cast also includes Timothée Chalamet, Jonah Hill, Tyler Perry, Cate Blanchett and Ron Perlman.

Don’t Look Up is slated to arrive in theaters December 10 and will begin streaming on Netflix December 24.
