I’m A Celebrity star Tottie Goldsmith says she ‘lost everything’ after cocaine scandal

Tottie Goldsmith spoke candidly about her cocaine scandal on Tuesday’s episode of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia.

The former pop star was caught with cocaine in her bag at the Hot Barbeque music festival at Portsea, Melbourne, in 2011.

She was never charged over the incident, during which she was humiliatingly searched by police in front of her father, Brian Goldsmith, but says she ‘lost everything’ due to the media coverage.

During the episode, the 59-year-old pointed the finger at a male friend, saying the drugs were not hers.

‘[It was] leaked to the press and they got a picture of me with a glass of wine, laughing, where I looked half p***ed,’ she said.

‘They slammed me, not only in Australia, in America, in England. It was hell. Hell just broke out and I said, “Can you please write a letter to the press and say it was yours”.

‘And I couldn’t get him to do it, he was never going to do it. If I say his name now, he would deny it. And who are they going to believe?

‘They are going to believe him because that’s the better story right? It’s a better story. And that man never admitted to it,’ she wept.

She also revealed that she faced off with journalist Derryn Hinch, 77, over his coverage of the story, during which he compared her to wild child Lindsay Lohan.

'I lost charities, charities dropped me, they said they can't be associated. I lost work everywhere. I lost my income. I lost everything,' she said

Tottie saw the TV and radio star, who is a close friend of her family, at a restaurant, and confronted him.

‘I walked over, my legs were weak. I was together, I wasn’t crying, and I said to him “You know me Derryn, why did you do that? Have you ever seen me do drugs?”

‘And he just put his head down and I said, “How could you do it. Shame on YOU” because that’s his word.
