‘And then I loved how there began to be layers of it,’ Cynthia said. ‘There’s the thing you tell Bitsy Von Muffling and then there’s the way you talk about it amongst each other. And I have to say, spoiler alert for any of you who haven’t seen it yet, but I felt like the flowers at the funeral were just. And I love how, you know, we keep checking in with her from time to time. I love that.’
‘Yes,’ agreed Andy of the show’s handling of the Samantha Jones character that Kim originated on the HBO series Sex And The City.
Andy then asked her if she thought that the Che Diaz character’s comedy on the show was funny.
‘I and Miranda think it is,’ Cynthia said laughing.

He then asked her if she understood why the fans were so upset with Steve’s treatment on the revival series. She said she did but ‘I have to say that’s the thing about break ups.’ She said oftentimes there’s one person who is making the break up happen and the other person who is reluctant. She said the person who is reluctant is also usually pretty miserable too and just not admitting it.
Andy then asked ‘how is it possible that Steve wouldn’t know how to finger?’
‘I think it’s been a while,’ said Cynthia.

Andy then asked her if Charlotte’s daughter Lily was the real villain because she ruined Carrie’s wedding and maybe killed Big.
‘No comment,’ Cynthia said.
He asked her for comments on the Miranda alcoholism story line.

‘Well you notice I’m having a non-alcoholic beverage today,’ Cynthia pointed out. ‘I love it. I have to say a lot of us were drinking more than we should have during the pandemic.’
One fan asked Cynthia to respond to the comments that Miranda turned into a version of Cynthia Nixon instead of the original Miranda.
Cynthia said she didn’t feel that. She said that when you play a character for a long time that there is a lot of crossover and that she thinks the writers have taken a lot of things ‘out of all of our own lives and put them in.’

‘Miranda’s in the midst of a massive mid-life crisis at 55 and I am not,’ she said.
Andy told her that Sarah Jessica Parker told him that she always has Tupperware on her and asked her what was the strangest food she had ever packed for a day on set. Cynthia said she didn’t know the strangest thing but that she always carries around the same lunch everyday.
‘It’s a bowl that has kale, quinoa, avocado, sweet potatoes, curried chick peas, pickled onions, and I think I’m forgetting something,’ said Cynthia.

Andy pointed out that Christine Baranski, 69, her co-star in The Gilded Age on HBO, once played her mother at one point, but was now playing her sister.
Cynthia said it was in 1983 and she didn’t realize at the time that Christine was way too young to be paying her mother. She said that their new HBO show was an amazing look at an opulent time.
