Aubrey Saget, 34, posted a screengrab of a text message to her Instagram Story in which the comedian, who had just kicked off his I Don’t Do Negative stand-up tour, wrote, “Thank u. Love u. Showtime!”

The Full House star was found unresponsive on Sunday afternoon in a room at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando and pronounced dead at the scene, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.

TMZ was the first to report Saget’s death early Sunday night. The outlet reported that he was found in his hotel room with his hand lying across his chest . His family had asked the Ritz-Carlton Hotel security to check on him when they were unable to reach him by phone.

Saget’s family issued a statement shortly after news broke of his death.

“We are devastated to confirm that our beloved Bob passed away today. He was everything to us and we want you to know how much he loved his fans, performing live and bringing people from all walks of life together with laughter. Though we ask for privacy at this time, we invite you to join us in remembering the love and laughter that Bob brought to the world.”

In addition to Aubrey, Saget was also father to daughters Lara, 32, and Jennifer, 29, whom he shared with ex-wife Sherri Kramer.

A source told PEOPLE that Saget spoke to his wife Kelly Rizzo in the early morning hours on Sunday after he finished a show near Jacksonville, Fla.

“Kelly is completely devastated. Bob was her best friend and the love of her life. They were so happy together and so happy that they found each other,” said the source. “They had the best marriage and they connected on such a deep level. She doesn’t know how to go on without him.”

Saget and Rizzo, who met through a friend in 2015, were married in 2018.

“Kelly and Bob had the same sense of humour. He was so supportive of her company, Eat Travel Rock , and when she did cooking videos, he was often her producer, filming her or doing funny voiceovers,” the source added.

Saget, who had shows booked well into the spring, had just kicked off a 2022 tour. After Saturday’s stand-up set, he posted a selfie from the stage on Instagram.

“Okay, I loved tonight’s show @pontevedra_concerthall in Jacksonville. Really nice audience. Lots of positivity. Happened last night in Orlando last night at the Hard Rock Live too,” he captioned the post. “Very appreciative and fun audiences … I had no idea I did a two hour set tonight. I’m back in comedy like I was when I was 26. I guess I’m finding my new voice and loving every moment of it … Goin’ everywhere until I get the special shot. And then probably keep going cause I’m addicted to this s—. Peace out.”

Saget played widowed father Danny Tanner on Full House from 1987 to 1995, and reprised the role for Netflix’s reboot/sequel Fuller House from 2016 to 2020. On the original sitcom, Tanner shared his home with his three daughters, his brother-in-law and best friend.

The Philadelphia-born actor also had a recurring role on HBO’s Entourage and hosted America’s Funniest Home Videos from 1989 to 1997.

John Stamos, Saget’s co-star on both iterations of Full House , said he was “broken” and “gutted” by Saget’s death.

“I am broken. I am gutted. I am in complete and utter shock. I will never ever have another friend like him. I love you so much Bobby,” Stamos tweeted.

His fellow Full House castmate Lori Loughlin added, “Bob was more than my friend, he was my family,” Loughlin said in a statement. “I will miss his kind heart and quick wit. Thank you for a lifetime of wonderful memories and laughter. I love you Bobby.”

A statement released on behalf of the rest of the cast , which also included twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and Candace Cameron Bure, read: “Bob made us laugh until we cried. Now our tears flow in sadness, but also with gratitude for all the beautiful moments of our sweet, kind, hilarious, cherished Bob. He was a brother to us guys, a father to us girls and a friend to all of us.”

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel called Saget “the sweetest man” in his opening monologue Monday night.

“I have so many wonderfully kind and supportive texts and emails, calls from Bob. He always had a compliment. He would write sometimes just to tell me he loved me, and I know he did that for many people,” Kimmel said. “When you walked into a party and you saw Bob and his wife Kelly in the corner, you go straight to them and stay for as long as you could because he had something funny to say about everything and nothing bad to say about anyone.”

The Orlando medical examiner’s office have yet to pinpoint a cause of death, but authorities said there is no evidence that foul play or drugs played any role.

Speaking to PEOPLE in 2016, Saget said he had enjoyed his life as a dad to three girls.

“They are the light of my life,” he said. “I am a fortunate man in that all three of my daughters are exceptional.”
